Our project is a virtual reflection of the well-known since the days of hippies Freak Street in Kathmandu. In the old 60's Freak Street was hippies’ paradise where they chilled and exchanged with unique self-made clothes, exclusive jewelry & interesting psychedelic ornaments, exclusive handmade accessories and items of underground art. Over time, hippies were replaced by freaks, spiritual seekers and representatives of dance trance culture. Preserving the spirit and tradition of old days, they breathed new life into the design of clothing and accessories, focusing not only on the principles of beauty, freedom and independence, but also on considerations of convenience and practicality for everyday active wearing, in extreme situations and on the dance floor.

Today, the main tourist center moved to Thamel, but Freak Street still retained the spirit of 60s. Here young progressive European designers create stylish, comfortable, beautiful, exclusive fashions and accessories, made from different high-quality materials/cloths, some of which are available only in Asia. But what really makes this market unique is the atmosphere in which the impact of different interests, world views, cultures and religions mixed.

In our collections, we have tried to convey an ancient but always new, mystical spirit of Kathmandu, with its swirling and boiling in the waves of the sacred river Baghmati, primordial soup of shamanism, the worship of Shiva Bhairava & Mother Kali, Buddhism, the influence of various mystics & magicians, yogis, explorers & warriors of the spirit, hippies, freaks, junkies, representatives of the underground, gonzo and veterans of trance & dance culture, as well as many others. We tried to keep Great Spirit of the sacred river, running through “shmashans” and ancient Pashupatinath temple taking away all the limitations and obscurations, giving pleasure and liberation for everyone forever.

For a long time all this was only available to some lucky ones who had the opportunity to visit Nepal & India. But now everyone can order favorite clothes like Alibaba or Afghani pants, Nepali hoodies, Yak leather bags, shoes, Indian-style clothes, accessories, unique musical instruments, artifacts, items of power, and so on online at Freak Bazaar.
